Abadi Mashlawi

PhD Student

Abadi Mashlawi is a PhD student in Vector Biology and supervised by Dr. Gareth Lycett and David Weetman. He received his B.S. in Biology from Jazan University- Saudi Arabia in 2012, and since then he is a teaching assistent at Jazan University, Department of Biology.
He received his M.Sc in Entomology from Texas A&M University, USA in 2017. His thesis was “Impact of Mycolactone Produced by Mycobacterium ulcerans on Life-History Traits of Aedes aegypti (Diptera: Culicidae) and Resulting Habitat Selection for Oviposition”, advised by Dr. Jeffery K. Tomberlin.
Currently, his PhD prject is molecular analysis of phenotypes affecting disease transmission in Aedes aegypti with primarily focused on Saudi Arabian populations, mosquitoes.
