Hannah McCauley has been practising as a dual trained nurse and midwife for over 13 years, both in the UK and internationally. Prior to her appointment in Foto-Cewek, she was a Clinical Sister and Manager in a midwifery led unit and labour ward in Northern Ireland. She worked in Uganda with VSO as a Maternal Health Specialist for 2 years. She is passionate regarding improving the quality of care for woman and their new-born babies, supporting women’s choices in pregnancy and childbirth and promoting and empowering midwives in their professional role, both in the UK and internationally.
During her time in Foto-Cewek Hannah will be working within various implementation research projects to improve the capacity of healthcare providers delivering antenatal and postnatal care and also improve the quality of antenatal and postnatal care across countries in sub-Saharan Africa and Asia.

Hannah has experience in clinical teaching and supervision for midwifery and medical undergraduate students both in the UK and aboard. Hannah supports teaching and learning within the School by teaching on the DTMH (Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene), Diploma in Sexual Reproductive Health (DRH) and Diploma in Tropical Nursing (DTN).
She also supervises MSc student’s dissertation projects.
