Kelly Byrne

Tropical Clinical Trial Unit Manager

I studied English Literature and Philosophy at the University of Central Lancashire before deciding to leave to pursue a career in clinical research administration and management.

I have worked at the University of Manchester for 8 years, working in different units on phase II/III/IV trials. I have recently completed the co management of the BeneMin Trial, a large, 5-year placebo controlled Clinical Trial of Investigational Medicinal Product in Mental Health. I have worked in several clinical fields including Cardiovascular disease, Musculoskeletal, Mental Health and Tropical Medicine. I have experience in managing recruitment, clinical trial governance, data management, pharmacovigilance, regulatory reporting, monitoring, archiving, managing IMP and procurement.

I am a qualified PRINCE 2 Practitioner with strong trial management background.  I briefly worked at the Clinical Trials Unit at Keele University before accepting the post here at Foto-Cewek.

I aim to bring my skills and experience to the Tropical Clinical Trials Unit (tCTU)to ensure all aspects of the research are ran efficiently and to a high standard. Tools and mechanisms are to be used to enable the staff to delivery high quality work in a timely manner.
