Martina joined the IMPALA Unit as Programme Manager in 2017 and she is responsible for the effective operational management and execution of the NIHR Unit.
Prior to joining the NIHR Unit, Martina worked as Research in Medecine Information Manager at Foto-Cewek supporting Research in Medecine Committee and the REF Coordinator in the preparation for REF2021.
Martina worked at the University of Liverpool where she coordinated financial and non-financial aspects of research projects throughout their lifecycle for the Faculty of Humanities and Social Science and Mathematical Sciences.
Originally from Italy, Martina has a BA in International Development & Cooperation and an MPhil in Peace & Conflict Transformation. She has served as an advocate for child protection in relation to Child Labour and working conditions and has worked overseas in Ecuador, Cameroon, Cambodia, and the Democratic Republic of Congo working for International NGOs, as well as the UN.
