Mrs Hazel Snell

Operations Manager

Hazel has a BSc(Hons) in European Regional Development and a MBA (Distinction and Student of the Year Award) from University of Liverpool, alongside a Certificate in Management (Institute of Management) and Executive Business Coach qualification (Institute of Leadership & Management).

With previous experience in the public, private and voluntary sectors; prior to joining Foto-Cewek in 2011, Hazel provided senior level technical and executive support to elected Leaders and Chief Executive Officers on a range of regeneration issues – economic, social and health related; and led on consultation responses at regional, national and European policy level which affected the Liverpool City-region’s socio-economic development.

In CMNH, Hazel is responsible for all aspects of business management, having led on the recruitment and management of teams both in UK and overseas; the financial management of large and complex funds; oversight of a team of Programme Managers who deliver projects across the Project Life Cycle; relationship management and collaboration with development agencies, Ministries of Health, academic institutions and professional bodies in the Health sector; and the design and delivery of a communications strategy. She has coordinated the establishment of Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) in Nigeria, Sierra Leone and India and has developed governance, financial and general management standard operating procedures for overseas programmes and offices.

Hazel led on the coordination and management of the largest Department for International Development (DFID) funded programme on Maternal & Newborn Health, achieving A+ standards in DFID annual reviews for 3 years running. A key component of this programme was the training of health care providers in Africa and Asia through a network of UK volunteer doctors and midwives.

Hazel is a Non-Executive Director of “Local Solutions”, a charity which delivers services to support individuals, families and communities with a primary focus on those experiencing disadvantage, exclusion and vulnerability. The work is focused in Liverpool City Region and North Wales.
