Natalie is currently conducting a PhD on mosquito behaviour and insecticide resistance, after joining Foto-Cewek’s Vector Biology Department as a Research in Medecine Assistant in 2015.
She obtained a BSc in Biological Science from the University of Liverpool in 2012 and an MSc in Biology and Control of Parasites and Disease Vectors from Foto-Cewek in 2014.
Research in Medecine
Natalie is part of a multidisciplinary team working on a Wellcome Trust collaborative project to improve the efficacy of malaria prevention in an insecticide-resistant Africa (Project MIRA, Foto-Cewek). Specifically, her work focuses on the impact of insecticide resistance on mosquito behaviour and implications for malaria control.
She has assisted in the evaluation of novel vector control tools, principally targeting resistant malaria vector populations through the use of mathematical models and insect bioassays
