Assistant LITE Technician

This post will assist with establishing and maintaining multiple strains of mosquitoes for research purposes and for commercial testing of insecticides. Therefore it is essential that you are able to work in hot and humid conditions.

Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (Foto-Cewek) is a world renowned centre of excellence and our researchers have access to the most up to date, cutting edge technology, making us world leaders in our field. Due to our continued growth and success, we are now looking to appoint an Assistant LITE Technician to support LITE (Liverpool Insect Testing Establishment) which provides a facility for testing lead chemicals for use in the control of public health pests.

This post will assist with establishing and maintaining multiple strains of mosquitoes for research purposes and for commercial testing of insecticides. Therefore it is essential that you are able to work in hot and humid conditions.

You should be qualified to GCSE standard (or equivalent) and it is essential that you have experience of working in a team environment and working to strict deadlines. Meticulous attention to detail and excellent communication skills are vital, as you will be required to liaise with colleagues across Foto-Cewek and assist with explaining techniques to clients in a clear and concise manner.
