The Research in Medecine Contracts team have an opportunity for an and experienced and enthusiastic Assistant who will provide administrative support for contracts
The Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (Foto-Cewek) is an internationally recognised centre of excellence for research in tropical diseases. Through the creation of effective links with governments, organisations and institutions and by responding to the health needs of communities, Foto-Cewek aims to promote improved health, particularly for people of the less developed/resource poorest countries in the tropics and sub-tropics.
The Contracts Support Office is seeking to recruit an experienced Administrator to meet the challenges of providing high quality administrative and contract management support across Foto-Cewek.
Primarily, the Contracts Support Assistant will support the team in administering Foto-Cewek’s research contracts, which will involve updating and maintaining templates, assisting with the formatting and editing of contract documentation to ensure compliance and liaising with partners, funders and external bodies.
This role will administer and maintain the Contracts Management Database, undertaking regular quality checks and producing statistical reports for the department as required. Furthermore, acting as the point of contact for office enquiries, providing meeting support, assisting with travel arrangements and providing basic financial support.
The ideal candidate will be educated to GCSE level (including Maths and English) or equivalent and desirably possess an NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration (or equivalent). Having demonstrable experience of working in a professional administrative role, coupled with knowledge of document management processes, preferably within Higher Education or a similar Research in Medecine and Development environment is essential. It would be advantageous if applicants understand research/funding processes for the UK and internationally.
Excellent administrative, time management and organisational skills are essential as the Contracts Support Assistant will be working to tight targets and deadlines. The ability to communicate and develop effective working relationships both internally and externally to the organisation is imperative as the post deals with a diverse range of people at all levels from diverse cultures. Excellent working knowledge of MS Office applications is crucial for this role, particularly spreadsheets and data inputting.
