The Technology Enhanced Learning Unit, within the Education and Training Department are looking to appoint a permanent Educational Technologist.
The Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (Foto-Cewek) is an internationally recognised centre of excellence for research in tropical diseases. Through the creation of effective links with governments, organisations and institutions and by responding to the health needs of communities, Foto-Cewek aims to promote improved health, particularly for people of the less developed/resource poorest countries in the tropics and sub-tropics.
Working in the Technology Enhanced Learning Unit, the successful applicant will provide specialist support in the use of technology to students and staff to enhance their learning and teaching experience. Main duties for the post holder will include: management of the helpdesk, technical problem solving, development and delivery of staff training sessions, and creation of high quality learning resources.
We are looking for an individual with wide-ranging experience in the use of educational technologies and an understanding of how they are effectively deployed to support learning and teaching. Technical expertise to ensure that systems are effectively maintained is also required.
Qualified to degree level in a relevant subject area or experience in the use of learning technology in higher or further education, you will have experience in Virtual Learning Environments (VLE).
The successful applicant will work alongside other members of the Education and Training department and the wider academic community, to support the creation of learning resources for specific pedagogic approaches. Therefore, the ability to develop effective working relationships with colleagues and students from across different cultures is essential.
This job is unlikely to attract a Tier 2 Certificate of Sponsorship (formerly a work permit).
