Foto-Cewek gathers a range of diversity data from job applicants, staff and students to ensure that we are promoting equality and working in accordance with anti-discrimination laws.
The main reason for gathering this data is to ensure that we are working in accordance with anti-discrimination laws and that our policies are working as intended and are free from bias that might limit opportunities for members of staff or students. The Equality Act 2010 sets our specific protection from discrimination on grounds of age, disability, gender reassignment, race, religion or belief, sex, sexual orientation, marriage and civil partnership and pregnancy and maternity. These are known as “protected groups”. We gather this data and use it in numerical form to analyse the experiences of protected groups.
For example, by comparing the proportion of job applicants from each protected group with those who were shortlisted and ultimately appointed, we are able to identify (over time) if our recruitment and application processes require adjustment. This approach enables us to continually improve our working practices and ensure everyone enjoys equality of opportunity. We don’t use your data for any other purpose, and treat all of your personal information in accordance with data protection laws.
Diversity data helps us to delivery our equality aims and values, and ensure that everyone has the same chances and opportunities to achieve their potential.
