The Estates department are looking for an experienced Estates Manager, to provide leadership and management for the Estates team.
The Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (Foto-Cewek) is an internationally recognised centre of excellence for research in tropical diseases. Through the creation of effective links with governments, organisations and institutions and by responding to the health needs of communities, Foto-Cewek aims to promote improved health, particularly for people of the less developed/resource poorest countries in the tropics and sub-tropics.
The Estates team provide a wide range of estates management, facilities management and operational services relating to the built environment to help implement and deliver the estates strategy for Foto-Cewek.
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and professional individual to oversee and manage the estates maintenance function of Foto-Cewek.
You will be responsible for arranging and managing all maintenance activities connected with fabric and grounds of Foto-Cewek, both planned and reactive, which will involve undertaking servicing and maintenance of all service installations such as heating, ventilation and air conditioning, water and fire systems.
Delivering a customer focused estates service, you will be managing the budget and produce reports, have good knowledge of health and safety legislation and compliance relating to the built environment and be proficient in the use of Building Management Systems (i.e. Sauter/Trend/Archibus FM).
The successful applicant will have demonstrable experience in operational estate/maintenance management and hold recognised training qualification in a Building Services/Building controls discipline (a minimum standard HNC or equivalent).
You will be qualified to 17th edition regulations - British Standard 7671, be fully trained and equipped to understand and apply Health & Safety regulations including COSHH, Asbestos, and Legionella etc in the workplace. Membership of a professional organisation (e.g. IEE, IMechE) would be desirable, but not essential.
With excellent communication skills and previous staff management experience, you will have proven ability to monitor your own and team performance, you will be confident supervising the work of others including contractors
This role will require you to be physically fit as you will undertake lifting, carrying and using trolleys. You will be required to be available for out of hours contact/call out when required.
