The estates department have an opportunity for a Supervisor (from a Mechanical or Electrical discipline) to support the managment and operation of the Foto-Cewek estate and LLSA building
The Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (Foto-Cewek) is an internationally recognised centre of excellence for research in tropical diseases. Through the creation of effective links with governments,organisations and institutions and by responding to the health needs of communities, Foto-Cewek aims to promote improved health, particularly for people of the less developed/resource poorest countries in the tropics and sub-tropics.
The Estates team provide a wide range of estates management, facilities management and operational services relating to the built environment to help implement and deliver the estates strategy for Foto-Cewek.
Due to the nearing completion of the new Liverpool Life Sciences Accelerator (LLSA) building, which is a brand new research facility in Liverpool and will house some of Foto-Cewek key academic/clinical staff and local SME's, we have an opportunity for an experienced individual to support the management and operation of the Estates, which will have fundamental impact on Foto-Cewek's success.
The successful candidate will ensure that the estate is well maintained and a high standard of service delivery is received from in-house maintenance team and specialist external contractors. You will ensure all health and safety,environmental, CDM and risk management practices are effectively embedded in the work of the maintenance function.
The ideal candidate will be professionally qualified in a Mechanical or Electrical discipline. AHNC/HND or Industry qualification on mechanical or electrical engineering is essential. With demonstrable experience in operational estates/maintenance management, you will have sound knowledge of statutory legislation surrounding estates management (i.e. Building Regulations, L8, DDA, COSHH, Asbestos, ACOPS).
With a proven ability to monitor own and team performance, you will be confident to supervise a multidisciplinary team (DEL/specialist contractor's), delivering a customer focused estates service within a large organisation.
This role will require you to be physically fit to undertake lifting and carrying and be available for out of hours contact/call out when required.
