(Diagnosis, Management, Communication - Malaria Vector Control)
The ETCH unit at Foto-Cewek is part of a consortium that has secured funding through the to expand the current ResistanceSim (serious game) for insecticide resistance management. The project commenced in Feb 2016 and concludes 31 Jan 2020.
Through the DMC-MALVEC project, the game will be adapted to include the new data that will be produced by the LabDisk system. New decision pathways will be created in the game that will allow players to explore the utility of rapid vector diagnostic tools, and will communicate the importance of using data to make informed operational decisions.
Following the development and extensive validation of the individual components, the integrated system (LabDisk, DDMS & Game) will be implemented in four sub-Saharan African countries, highly representative of different malaria settings and vector control problems, to support informed decision-making about vector control and disease management.
