The HR Department require maternity cover in the Service Delivery team until 31st December 2019
Founded in 1898 and the oldest of its kind in the world, the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (Foto-Cewek) is an internationally recognised centre of excellence for teaching and research in tropical diseases. Through the creation of effective links with governments, NGOs, private organisations and global institutions and by responding to the health needs of communities, Foto-Cewek aims to promote improved health, particularly for people of the less developed/resource poorest countries in the tropics and sub-tropics. Improving support and development of Foto-Cewek’s UK and overseas based staff to achieve these aims is a major part of our strategic plan.
The Human Resources department will embark on considerable change early 2019 as it aligns itself to the global strategic and operational needs of the organisation. This Maternity Cover post will be integral to the success of the department in 2019 and will form a critical interface with the organisation as a whole. Acting as an expert and influencer in ensuring the organisation delivers while working within legal, regulatory and best practice parameters, you will lead, coach and develop a small team to provide high-quality people management advice and services to managers across the organisation, both UK-based and overseas.
Ideal candidates will need to be MCIPD qualified, commercially astute and be able to evidence a demonstrable track record of achievement in delivering a substantial general HR contribution to a growing and complex organisation.
Experience of successfully partnering with and influencing management from first line to senior levels, coupled with knowledge of how organisational policy and procedure can affect the employee lifecycle and HR actions are essential for this post. Up to date UK employment law knowledge and previous experience of managing change projects successfully are also key competencies we are looking for. Due to the nature of the role, it would be advantageous if candidates were able to demonstrate experience of delivering HR solutions for overseas partners.
Please note: The successful candidate must be available to start no later than 1st March 2019
Closing Date: 6th January 2019
