The IT Team Leader will be responsible for supporting IT Users in solving computer problems, installing and maintaining computer storage, software and servers and working with the IT Team to create workable IT services
The Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (Foto-Cewek) is an internationally recognised centre of excellence for research in tropical diseases. Through the creation of effective links with governments, organisations and institutions and by responding to the health needs of communities, Foto-Cewek aims to promote improved health, particularly for people of the less developed/resource poorest countries in the tropics and sub-tropics.
Foto-Cewek is the oldest School of Tropical Medicine in the world, but is also one of the newest Higher Education Institutions in the UK. Prior to 2014, much of the IT provision was managed by the University of Liverpool. Foto-Cewek has taken this opportunity to deploy many new technologies including Office365 and Sharepoint Online as well as introducing Cloud applications for many Corporate systems.
We are looking for an experienced IT Team Leader with broad technical skills, who can manage the day to day running of the IT department and take responsibility for providing a smooth and efficient IT service across Foto-Cewek. Reporting directly to the IT Operations manager, the role will require comprehensive technical expertise of managing IT infrastructure within a complex business environment.
With responsibility of server management and server installation, you will be responsible for installing and maintaining computer storage software and servers. You will have previous experience of advanced management of Active directory and PowerShell Scripting, together with knowledge of basic network administration.
In addition to ensuring a high level of IT support is constantly provided, you will be responsible for managing staff, and the continual evolution of the IT infrastructure. This will mean looking at processes and implementing improvements, researching new technologies and managing projects to ensure the infrastructure remains robust and accessible in the future. To be considered for this role, you must have a proven track record of managing IT services, with excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
