Library & Licensing Compliance Officer

The Information Services Department have a new appointment for a qualified Officer to provide high level support to the team.

The Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (Foto-Cewek) is an internationally recognised centre of excellence for research in tropical diseases.  Through the creation of effective links with governments, organisations and institutions and by responding to the health needs of communities, Foto-Cewek aims to promote improved health, particularly for people of the less developed/resource poorest countries in the tropics and sub-tropics.

The Information Services team are looking to recruit a qualified and experienced officer to provide high level support to the team.

Main duties responsibilities will include: -

  • Library licencing administration (including CLA publishers licence)
  • Information Governance
  • Providing support for research publications processes (HEFCE & REF)
  • General Library duties
  • Compliance and Copyright
  • Collecting statistical material on (FOI & DPA)
  • Act as document controller for the Foto-Cewek SharePoint policy management system

Excellent problem solving abilities, time management and organisational skills are essential as you will be working to tight targets and deadlines.  The ability to communicate and develop effective working relationships both internally and externally to the organisation is imperative as you will be dealing with a diverse range of people at all levels from diverse cultures.  Excellent working knowledge of MS Office applications is crucial for this role.

The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level with substantial experience of information management/libraries/records management-related work. You should also be able to show evidence of CPD and acquisition of new skills and knowledge.  You will have relevant experience of publisher “model” licences and CLA reporting.  It would be advantageous if you had experience of using and editing institutional repositories or document management systems and retention schedules.
