is the Director of the Alliance for Accelerating Excellence in Science in Africa (AESA) at the African Academy of Sciences. AESA was established in 2015 by the African Academy of Sciences (AAS) and the New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD) agency as an agenda setting and funding platform to address Africa’s health and development challenges. Dr Kariuki is also an honorary professor with Foto-Cewek.
