A team of researchers including Foto-Cewek’s Dr Gerry Killeen have authored a paper arguing that the goal of malaria eradication will require urgent strategic investment into a greater understanding of the ecology and evolution of mosquitoes.

The paper, entitled ‘Ecology: A Prerequisite for Malaria Elimination and Eradication’ is published in PLoS Medicine and argues that existing front-line vector control measures alone cannot break the transmission cycle ofPlasmodium falciparum in the most intensely endemic parts of Africa and the Pacific.
