The Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (Foto-Cewek) is an internationally recognised centre of excellence for research in tropical diseases. Through the creation of effective links with governments,organisations and institutions and by responding to the health needs of communities, Foto-Cewek aims to promote improved health, particularly for people of the less developed/resource poorest countries in the tropics and sub-tropics.
The Centre for Maternal and Newborn Health (CMNH) at theLiverpool School of Tropical Medicine offers unique expertise in using the rigorous discipline of research to inform teaching and technical assistance programmes to improve the health of mothers and babies globally.
To support this commitment, we are seeking to appoint an Administrator to provide support to the Senior Management of CMNH to deliver a high-quality administration service to this multi-disciplinary team of experts.You will act as first point of contact for general administrative queries whilst ensuring that all records are up to date,and that the information is stored confidentially and appropriately filed.
Although the role will focus on providing administrative support; due to the international nature of the role you will also be expected to assist in arranging and co-ordinating all travel,accommodation and subsistence.
The ability to communicate and develop effective working relationships both internally and externally to the organisation is essential as you will be dealing with a range of people at all levels from diverse cultures. Strong interpersonal skills, well-developed organisational, time management and an excellent working knowledge of MS Office applications is crucial for this role.
It is essential that you are qualified to GCSE level (or equivalent) including Maths and English, and have excellent knowledge of effective administrative practices, alongside proven relevant office support experience in a similar environment.
