Having successfully supported the 1st portfolio of vector control product development in conjunction with our Industrial Partners, we are now seeking to appoint an experienced Programme Director to drive a collaboration with our Implementation Partners to accelerate the uptake of new vector control tools.

IVCC is a Product Development Partnership (PDP) established to create the partnerships that will develop the next generation of vector control tools necessary for sustainable control and elimination of malaria.   Founded in 2005 with support from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation IVCC is now supported by the major donors in the field including USAID, UKAID , Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation.  IVCC’s first development portfolio has now successfully delivered advanced Indoor Residual Spray formulations to the marketplace with dramatic initial impact.  Other products ranging from novel active ingredients for vector control to innovative solutions to outdoor transmission are in the pipeline.

You will be responsible for the overall international coordination and programme management between the partners (UNITAID, Presidents Malaria Initiative, Abt Associates, The Global Fund and MACEPA), National Malaria Control Campaigns and the suppliers of new products.  Managing a highly experienced and capable team in a matrix organisation, you will be responsible for project delivery including the implementation, financial, technical and communications aspects of the partnership.

The successful candidate will be of at least graduate calibre and have significant experience of delivering public health interventions in Africa.  It is essential you have a demonstrable track record of achievement in working with major international donors and implementers, coupled with considerable experience working with Ministries of Health at a strategic programme level. It is also essential that you have a strategic understanding of the global public health environment.

You will need to demonstrate robust financial acumen, a strong commercial approach towards managing and influencing external partners, as well as experience of managing complex projects on a global basis.

Although the preferred location for this post is Liverpool, consideration will be given to candidates residing in other appropriate locations.
