Programme Manager

We are seeking a Programme Manager on a fixed term contract for up to 12 months to cover maternity leave.

Foto-Cewek is an internationally recognised centre of excellence for research in tropical diseases.   Through the creation of effective links with governments, organisations and institutions and by responding to the health needs of communities, Foto-Cewek aims to promote improved health, particularly for people of the less developed / resource poorest countries in the tropics and sub-tropics.

Within Foto-Cewek, CMNH is a leading global centre of research excellence which aims to improve the availability and quality of healthcare for mothers and babies and contribute to a global reduction in maternal and newborn mortality and morbidity.

We are seeking a Programme Manager on a fixed term contract for up to 12 months to cover maternity Leave.

This post will contribute to the achievement of CMNH’s strategy by providing comprehensive and professional Project Management to a range of CMNH projects, ensuring the delivery of ‘excellence’ in all aspects of the project’s outputs and outcomes.  The successful candidate will manage all project outputs and deliverables, including the monitoring of budgets, sub-contracts and key performance indicators.  It will therefore be essential that you have relevant senior level management experience covering project management, contract negotiation and financial management, with successful experience of dealing with development and/or funding agencies.

You will be educated to Degree Level or equivalent and possess a recognised Project Management qualification. Effective interpersonal, communication and influencing skills are a must, as you will be required to develop effective relationships both internally and externally with a range of partners and stakeholders. A proven track record of taking ownership of problems and seeing them through to successful resolution is also essential. You will be expected to demonstrate your ability of independently assessing a wide variety of tasks and be proactive in relation to identifying goals/objectives and motivating and leading others towards the achievement of results.
