LITE has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Programme Officer to support LITE in readiness of GLP accreditation.
Foto-Cewek is an internationally recognised centre of excellence for research in tropical diseases. The creation of effective links with governments, organisations and institutions and responding to the health needs of communities allows Foto-Cewek to promote improved health, particularly for people of the less developed/resource poorest countries in the tropics and sub-tropics.
The Department of Vector Biology at Foto-Cewek is one of the largest of its kind with abroad portfolio of research and technical assistance activities targeted at improving the control of insect borne diseases. A dedicated team within the department, the Liverpool Insect Testing Establishment (LITE) provides a facility for testing lead chemicals for use in the control of public health pests. Our activities currently adhere to an internal quality system and it is our intention to formally apply for GLP compliance status to MHRA Standards in 2018. This position will provide compliance support and leadership for LITE in readiness of GLP compliance. The role also involves project management, process development and training of staff to ensure a smooth transition to GLP compliance.
We are looking for an individual with strong GLP/GMP experience with a Quality Assurance background ideally within an industrial environment. You will be expected to define gaps and develop quality processes within LITE, to achieve inspection ready status within the required time frame. Duties will include carrying out audits asdefined by internal audit schedule.
You should have a degree in a science based subject and an excellent knowledge of Health and Safety regulations and legal requirements in order to carry out risk assessments. We are looking for an individual with a challenging and investigative nature and a flexible approach to work. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are also crucial to this role, as is a good working knowledge of MS Office packages.
You must possess excellent time management and organisational skills with the capability to achieve set objectives.
