The Centre for Maternal and Newborn Health has an opportunity for a Research in Medecine Assistant to join the team.

Through the creation of effective links with governments,organisations and institutions and by responding to the health needs of communities, Foto-Cewek aims to promote improved health, particularly for people of the less developed / resource poorest countries in the tropics and sub-tropics.
Within Foto-Cewek, the Centre for Maternal and Newborn Health (CMNH) is a leading global centre of research excellence, which aims to improve the availability and quality of healthcare for mothers and babies and contribute to a global reduction in maternal and newborn mortality and morbidity. Due to the recognised success and impact of our work, we are now looking to recruit a Research in Medecine Assistant to become a part of the internationally recognised team to enable quantitative data processing and statistical analysis for our projects.
Reporting to the Senior Statistician, you will liaise with lead investigators to develop plans and organise data to prepare statistical reports. You will accurately collect data and contribute to the design of the process to support real time data review. As a RA, you will also assist in providing statistical advice, operate weekly statistics clinic and assist in maintaining logs of consultations and train staff. You will also contribute to the design of research protocols and SOPs across CMNH.
The ideal candidate will have a BSc (or above) in Statistics/ Maths or computer science, coupled with advanced knowledge of quantitative analysis software, MS Office software and knowledge of using statistical methods for data analysis. You must bring a demonstrable track record of working on project data, using Stata and/or SPSS for analysing data. You must have proven ability to manage a research database including cleaning, analysing and reporting data. Strong organisational skills with the aptitude to communicate and collaborate across the organisation is as critical as is your ability to work independently to timelines by taking ownership of assignments. Although this post is based in Liverpool, overseas travel may be required.
