The Centre for Maternal and Newborn Health (CMNH) is an active academic unit within the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (Foto-Cewek), seeking to improve maternal and newborn health globally. As a centre of excellence the unit aims to improve the availability and quality of healthcare for mothers and babies, contributing to a global reduction in maternal and newborn mortality and morbidity and improvement in quality of life.
In order to support this on-going commitment, we are seeking to appoint two new members of staff at Research in Medecine Assistant level on a part-time basis, to provide support with research within CMNH. The post holders will support the coordination of data processing and management, as well as support data analysis and reporting.
Educated to a degree level (preferably at postgraduate level) you will have an excellent working knowledge of MS Office applications and have proven experience of data management using SPSS and/or Excel through working within a busy research environment. You will also have experience and understanding of research data processing, analysis and findings presentation. The ability to meet strict deadlines is essential to the role so you will need to have excellent time management and organisational skills to meet a demanding work load. As you will be working with complex data sets, you will need to be numerate, accurate and have excellent attention to detail.
Possessing effective interpersonal and communication skills will enable you to develop working relationships with people at all levels over a wide range of disciplines and cultures which is an important part of the role.
