Senior Administrator & Administrator (Early Career Research in Medecineer Support)

Foto-Cewek are delighted to present 2 vacancies within the Education Department during a period of change – we are looking for 1 Senior Administrator and 1 Administrator to join our Early Careers Research in Medecine team.

The Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (Foto-Cewek) is an internationally recognised centre of excellence for research in tropical diseases.  Through the creation of effective links with governments, organisations and institutions and by responding to the health needs of communities, Foto-Cewek aims to promote improved health, particularly for people of the less developed/resource poorest countries in the tropics and sub-tropics.

Senior Administrator

The postholder will be a senior member of the administration team for Early Career Research in Medecineer Support. You will be responsible for managing administrative processes in accordance with the requirements of the relevant Foto-Cewek regulations and procedures relating to postgraduate research students. You will assist in the forward planning and management of the annual cycle of tasks and processes that underpin the support of early career researchers and will require excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads.  

You will be responsible for administration of the MRC-funded Doctoral Training Programme and Skills Development Fellowship initiatives and work closely with the academic leads for these programmes, as the named contact for the MRC. You will be expected to develop, monitor and report on a programme plan to track progress and assist the academic leads in measuring programme performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques. You will take responsibility for administration related to external research placements and liaise as required with other members of the Education Department with respect to accommodation and student welfare requirements.

Administrator

The post-holder will be a member of the administration team for Early Career Research in Medecineer Support. You will be responsible for managing administrative processes in accordance with the requirements of the relevant Foto-Cewek regulations and procedures relating to postgraduate research students.  You will assist and advise prospective PGR students and staff on application matters, manage the review, acceptance and offer process and welcome students on arrival and assist with registration and other enquiries.  Provide administrative support for the processes for annual progress review, thesis submission and examination of PGR students.  

You will also play a major role in the co-ordination of skills training and professional development, including organising the annual Foto-Cewek Postgraduate Symposium and an annual programme of skills development workshops.  You will be responsible for monitoring and reporting on student feedback and for organising academic and social events that promote a vibrant postgraduate experience.
