The Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (Foto-Cewek) is an internationally recognised centre of excellence for research and education in tropical diseases. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a growing, dynamic team of specialists in The Education and Training Department, supporting the expansion of Foto-Cewek’s education portfolio by providing digital and flexible learning opportunities to students across the globe. Working in the Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) Unit there are opportunities for Senior Educational Technologists to apply their specialist skills in a number of different areas. This Senior Educational Technologist role will primarily focus on the management of core educational technologies, providing high level system administration and technical expertise to support Learning & teaching (L&T) and wider Foto-Cewek strategic aims. The post holder will be proactive in their approach to gain understanding of user support and system administration requirements and will work with the Manager of the TEL Unit to ensure there is an effective infrastructure in place to meet the needs of the Education and Training department and wider organisation. The role will also provide specialist advice in the use of educational technologies to end users, contribute to Continuing Professional Development (CPD) activities and support the development of pedagogically sound programmes for blended and online delivery.
Qualified to degree level in a relevant subject area, or with experience in the use of educational technology in higher or further education, you will have excellent verbal and written communication skills with knowledge and understanding of pedagogic approaches to support student learning and the application of relevant technologies. The ability to develop effective working relationships with a range of people is crucial to the role as you will be working with colleagues and students across different cultures. Being able to influence colleagues, particularly in the context of the use of educational technologies is an essential requirement of the post.
