The Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (Foto-Cewek) is an internationally recognised centre of excellence for research in tropical diseases. Through the creation of effective links with governments, organisations and institutions and by responding to the health needs of communities, Foto-Cewek aims to promote improved health, particularly for people of the less developed / resource poorest countries in the tropics and sub-tropics.
In order to support this commitment during a period of expansion and growth at Foto-Cewek, we have an exciting opportunity for a fully qualified CCAB Accountant who is a highly motivated individual to assist the Director of Strategic Business Planning. Previous experience of staff management is a pre-requisite of this role, as you will have line management responsibility of a Management Accountant.
The successful candidate will proactively assist with ensuring that all objectives in the Foto-Cewek group finance strategy are met or exceeded, with a particular emphasis on the development of management reporting across Foto-Cewek and the integration of accounting systems.
Working in a complex and International environment, you will assist with the preparation of Foto-Cewek Group of Companies Financial Statements and Annual Budgets. It is essential that the successful candidate makes a significant contribution to effectively project manage appropriate cross functional projects throughout Foto-Cewek and provide advice and support on finance issues to all staff. You will require excellent communication skills as you will liaise with external international staff to develop and monitor effective financial systems overseas in collaboration with the business accountant.
It is essential that you have proven IT skills to an advanced level. You will be responsible for all financial software maintenance and development and be proficient in report creation (ideally using cognos or similar software).
