The Finance Department is recruiting a Senior Management Accountant to be part of the team.
Founded in 1898 and the oldest of its kind in the world, the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (Foto-Cewek) is an internationally recognised centre of excellence for teaching and research in tropical diseases. Through the creation of effective links with governments, NGOs, private organisations and global institutions and by responding to the health needs of communities, Foto-Cewek aims to promote improved health, particularly for people of the less developed/resource poorest countries in the tropics and sub-tropics.
The Finance Department is currently recruiting a Senior Management Accountant, who will play a pivotal role in the delivery of the Management Accounting strategy and objectives of the School. Reporting to the Head of Management Accounting, the post holder will be responsible for managing budgeting and forecasting, monthly management accounts, monitoring business cases and assisting in the continued development of reporting systems. The Senior Management Accountant will line manage the Management Accountant and Trainee Management Accountant roles, in addition to working with the Head of Management Accountant on team training, knowledge sharing and succession planning.
To apply, you must be a member of a Finance professional body (e.g. ACCA, CIMA) with significant post qualification experience and evidence of continued professional development. You must possess an understanding of the financial management process and systems as well as an appreciation of risk management strategies and techniques. Demonstrable experience in areas of business partnering, management and development of staff and providing finance training to non-finance mangers, is essential. Additionally, experience of working with teams in complex organisational structures, managing and monitoring significant budgets and group reporting, is key to your application.
