CMNH is a leading global centre of excellence for maternal and newborn health and due to the recognised success and impact of our work we are looking to recruit a Senior Technical Officer to join our internationally recognised team. This post will take the lead in strategic planning and prioritisation of interventions for MNH.
The Centre for Maternal and Newborn Health (CMNH) at the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (Foto-Cewek) offers unique expertise in using the rigorous discipline of research to inform teaching and technical assistance programmes to improve the health of mothers and babies globally. As a leading global centre of excellence for maternal and newborn health we aim to:
- Improve the availability and quality of healthcare for mothers and babies
- Contribute to a global reduction in maternal and newborn mortality and morbidity and improvement in quality of life.
Due to the recognised success and impact of our work, we are looking to recruit a Senior Technical Officer to join our internationally recognised team. As part of our leadership team, the post-holder will develop proposals and implement projects in the area of maternal and newborn health needs and outcomes in Low and Middle Income countries. You will lead in the strategic planning and prioritisation of interventions for MNH, design and implementation of such programmes and improved monitoring and evaluation of the impact on MNH outcomes.
Ideal candidates will have a MBBS or equivalent and a Masters degree in a relevant subject area (e.g. Public health), with demonstrable experience in leading large MNH partnerships or consortia in Low and Middle Income countries.
With strong negotiation and interpersonal skills we will also require the successful candidate to have experience of liaising with government ministries and agencies in a variety of country settings, bilateral donors and UN organisations. Experience of providing high quality expertise in the design and/or implementation of monitoring and evaluation of programmes aimed at improving MNH is critical to this post. The ability to work productively and co-operatively as a team leader and to develop excellent working relationships with academic and non-academic colleagues is also a prerequisite.
