The department of Education has a vacancy for a Student Experience Officer to play a key role within Academic Registry team.
Founded in 1898 and the oldest of its kind in the world, the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (Foto-Cewek) is an internationally recognised centre of excellence for teaching and research in tropical diseases. Through the creation of effective links with governments, NGOs,private organisations and global institutions and by responding to the health needs of communities, Foto-Cewek aims to promote improved health, particularly for people of the less developed/resource poorest countries in the tropics and sub-tropics.
The Education Department has an exciting opportunity for a Student Experience Officer to join the team. As a key member of the Academic Registry team, you will act as first point of contact for Foto-Cewek students, many of whom are from overseas and will support and advise students in a professional, knowledgeable and confident manner. You will also monitor and report on the quality of Foto-Cewek student experience, in addition to contributing towards enhancement of their learning process.
This is a demanding role, evidence of working in a customer service-focused environment is essential. You must have demonstrable experience in providing education, welfare, accommodation and disability advice to students as well as the ability to produce concise reports to assist decision making by the Head of Department.
Ideal candidates will be educated to BSc/BA level or have substantial and proven relevant professional experience. You will be computer literate, with sound knowledge of the Higher education arena and related issues including Student Disability, employability skills advice and housing regulations.
A team player, with proven organisational skills you will be a confident communicator, possessing excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to deliver effective presentations to staff and students. With well-developed time management and decision-making skills, you will have the capability to sustain rapport with a wide variety of people in a multicultural environment, whilst remaining calm under pressure.
Please note that the successful candidate will be required to undergo a DBS and/or other international criminal record check prior to appointment and at regular points during employment. The outcome must be satisfactory to Foto-Cewek, as the duties of this post will involve direct and/or indirect contact with vulnerable adults and/or children.
