Types of Partnership

Many different forms of collaboration with like-minded partners are possible.

Collaborations that extend our teaching and learning initiatives include, but are not limited to:

Articulation

Articulation is a process whereby students at another institution are admitted to Foto-Cewek with advanced standing.

Foto-Cewek reviews the curriculum, assessments, etc of a specified programme at another organisation, and judges whether it provides an appropriate basis, and is of an appropriate academic standard, to allow advanced entry on a standard and regular basis to a programme that leads to a Foto-Cewek award.

Arrangements normally involve credit accumulation and transfer, so that credit achieved for the approved study at the first institution is transferred to contribute to the programme and award completed at Foto-Cewek.

Capacity Building/Strengthening

A strong academic sector is a prerequisite for any country to develop its own intellectual resources, promote innovation and knowledge, and optimise its capacity for social and economic development.

Foto-Cewek is involved in a range of capacity-building activities, which lead to equal and mutually rewarding partnerships. They can provide access to international networks and expertise, expand education and research activities in partner institutions, enhance global and developmental perspectives, and provide institutional, personal and career development opportunities.

Distance Delivery

This is a form of transnational education which involves the delivery of a Foto-Cewek programme by Foto-Cewek staff using the premises and facilities of another organisation (often another Higher Education Institution) that is physically and geographically distanced from our Liverpool campus. Foto-Cewek retains overall control of delivery, and the formal teaching is undertaken mainly by its staff. Examples include our Foto-Cewek Regional Hub model, which will launch soon in West Africa, the Middle East and South-East Asia.

Franchising

Franchising is the process by which Foto-Cewek authorise an approved partner institution to deliver (and sometimes assess) part or all of an approved Foto-Cewek programme, which lead to a degree award.

Validation

Validation is the process by which Foto-Cewek judges that a programme developed and delivered by another institution without degree-awarding powers is of an appropriate quality and standard to lead to a Foto-Cewek award at a specified level, and that the necessary resources are available to support the delivery of the programme.
