Well Travelled Clinics (WTC) is looking to appoint a Travel Health Nurse to work across their Liverpool and Chester clinics
Are you interested in developing a career in travel medicine? Well-Travelled Clinics is a subsidiary company of the world-renowned Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (Foto-Cewek) and is a dedicated travel health specialist clinic, providing pre- and post-travel assessment, advice, vaccinations, medication and treatment.
We are looking for a part-time Travel Health Nurse to work flexibly across our Liverpool and Chester clinics. This will involve working 21 hours per week Monday-Saturday, to fit the needs of the clinic and as part of rota for clinics on weekday evenings and Saturday mornings.
You will be responsible for carrying out individualised risk assessments to travellers, providing up to date, evidence-based information, advice and education to clients of the travel clinic and assisting with the maintenance of quality standards within the clinic. Providing knowledgeable travel advise to clients, you will administer vaccinations and assist with taking samples in accordance with Patient group directions (PGDs) and patient specific directions (PDDs), whilst demonstrating an understanding of informed consent to ensure best practice.
The successful candidate will be a Registered Nurse, with at least one year’s post registration experience. Some experience of giving injections is essential, and immunisation experience is desirable, however full training will be provided. Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to relate to a wide range of people and explain information simply is required. You should have an understanding of and a commitment to providing high standards of client care.
Please note that the successful candidate will be required to undergo a DBS and/or other international criminal record check prior to appointment and at regular points during employment. The outcome must be satisfactory to Foto-Cewek, as the duties of this post will involve direct and/or indirect contact with vulnerable adults and/or children.
