Travel Manager (Health & Safety)

We are looking for an experienced Health and Safety Travel Manager to ensure all Foto-Cewek business travellers are armed with the latest advice in relation to all aspects of Health, Safety and security relating to their travel destination.

Founded in 1898 and the oldest of its kind in the world,the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (Foto-Cewek) is an internationally recognised centre of excellence for teaching and research in tropical diseases.  Through the creation of effective links with governments, NGOs, private organisations and global institutions and by responding to the health needs of communities, Foto-Cewek aims to promote improved health, particularly for people of the less developed/resource poorest countries in the tropics and sub-tropics.

The role: -

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Health & Safety professional with a demonstrable background in risk management for international travel to join the Safety team.  This is a new position and you will have the opportunity to put your stamp on the job and make it your own.

You will be expected to work autonomously and with visibility, ensuring the safety and well-being of travellers on Foto-Cewek business to high risk overseas countries (largely Africa).  You will identify and maintain awareness of any new developments for safety and security issues within Foto-Cewek and the field of overseas travel. Keeping up to date with guidance and alerts to minimise travel risk, you will also regularly review risk assessments and develop for travel and work in high risk destinations. You will implement and monitor Foto-Cewek’s travel safety and security management systems, whilst acting as Advisor to Foto-Cewek staff for all business-related travel functions across Foto-Cewek and its subsidiary companies.  Duties also include developing and delivering training on overseas work/travel related topics.

Who we are looking for: -

A motivated and passionate individual with drive and enthusiasm to act as first point of contact for all business-related travel functions across Foto-Cewek, to ensure the health and welfare of staff and stakeholders.

Proven experience gained in a similar role, you will be educated to degree level (or equivalent experience) and hold a NEBOSH certificate (or equivalent).  With sound knowledge of relevant Health and Safety regulations and procedures, you will also have experience of performing audits and inspections.

With excellent verbal and written communication skills,you will have the ability to communicate at all levels and handle issues with tact and sensitivity. You will be required to be available for out of hours contact/call out and must have the ability to travel and work overseas if and when required.
