The Capacity Research in Medecine Unit is looking to appoint an experienced Administrator to provide high quality support to projects and the team.
The Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (Foto-Cewek) is an internationally recognised centre of excellence for research in tropical diseases. Through the creation of effective links with governments,research institutions, NGOs and other organisations, Foto-Cewek aims to promote improved health, particularly for people of the less developed and resource poorest countries in the tropics and sub-tropics.
The Capacity Research in Medecine Unit (CRU) is rapidly expanding its research activities in innovative methods to design and measure capacity strengthening in a variety of environments. To meet the challenges of providing high quality support at the level of demand required, the Unit Administrator will develop and support the operational functions of this expanding unit. The post will provide day to day operational and administrative support to the multi-disciplinary CRU team and its projects and be responsible for smooth running of the team's administrative processes.
Within this role you will assist in the development and maintenance of office information systems, make international travel arrangements, organise and minute team meetings and provide administrative support to CRU projects. You will have a responsibility to check project expenditures,ensuring costs are correctly allocated and all financial paperwork is processed efficiently.
You will be educated to GCSE Level (5 GCSE's or equivalent Grades A-C including Maths and English) and must have proven professional development in appropriate business support areas. It is essential that you have experience of providing administrative support to complex programmes, including developing and maintaining office systems, organising team meetings, making travel arrangements and addressing administrative challenges. The ability to communicate and develop effective working relationships both internally and externally to the organisation is imperative as you will be dealing with a range of people at all levels from diverse cultures. Excellent working knowledge of MS Office applications is crucial for this role, particularly in Word and Excel.
